Is there any minor comic book publishing companys?

is there any minor comic book publishing companys that are not quite in the same league as the major ones but they're still doing alright and would they think about publishing an unsolicted comic. my brother wants to work on his comics his ownself because he knows how the story line goes out all the way from issue #1 to until the last issue. I dont care if a minor company one helps us out
