There was the story of Okinawan kobudo originating from locals making weapons of everyday tools in order to compensate for the restriction of conventional weaponry on the islands. Now, the validity of that is debated, but it is still a good story.
My question is, has anyone ever heard of anyone developing a style like that, using modern and easily available tools as weapons?
