My company has had a Cricket for 4 years that we use in one of our trucks. It has been banged around to the point that the battery is being held in with duct tape and one of the corners is chipped off. The clerk at the Cricket store of course wanted to sell me an expensive camera phone that can do all kinRAB of high-tech wizardry which I don't need. I asked her if I could just transfer the phone nuraber to an existing phone and she told me that is OK as long as the other phone is also a Cricket.
Anyway, I see on eBay that lots of people are selling the old Nokia 5170i for Cricket which I am familiar with because we also had one of those. But I'm wondering if somehow the cellular rules have changed or something which will make this old phone inoperable or obsolete. (I'm not sure this Cricket employee was all that technologically savvy.) The last thing I want is to pay the $15 to transfer the nuraber to a Nokia 5170i only to find out that it doesn't work due to advances in technology since that model was popular.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
