I have looked all over but can't find any. The K&N intake says only fits years 93-95. On Suprastore.com it says ONLY FITS 93-95. http://www.suprastore.com/naintakesystem.html
First off the intake on the 97 NA Supra is a CAI if you were to put a cone type filter on without redesigning the intake box you would actually be adding a hot air intake (don't be fooled by marketing it flows better but it is sucking air from the engine bay) If you want to mod your intake to make it flow better and maintain the Cold air aspect of it. This is what I would do.
NOTE: I do not have a Supra on hand to look at exact details this is all based on pictures.
First off remove the warmer from the intake (piece that extends over the radiator) and seal it that will probably lower your inlet temp by 10 to 20 dgr. by itself (and make the car sound meaner).
Looking at the picture I have found it appears that the inlet air comes from behind the passenger side head light, This is fairly restrictive but not horrible. One option would be to seal that inlet and cut a hole in the bottom of the air box. using some light sheet metal and pop rivets create a connector for some 3 or 4 inch ducting (depending on what you can find and what will fit). Run the duct to the opening just below the headlight on the passenger side (you may haft to cut a hole and fabricate a bracket but you should be able to hide all of that) cover the inlet with some 1/2" x 13ga flattened expanded metal, painted black to make it less noticeable (and keep larger debris out). Just use a standard hi flow filter for the stock air box and you have a true CAI with improved flow over the stock air box.
Caution: This intake set up will make it easier for you to get water in you intake so I would not recommend it if you drive in heavy rain or though deep puddles often.
Another option would be to remove the old air box completely build a new one out of Plexiglas or aluminum and use a cone filter this would flow even better and be more of a race set up
I would be happy to discus this in more detail with you if you wish just contact me jstntlvr yahoo dot com
