to credit card balance amounts? anotherwards , all of those charges that one pays on, did not occur
this year , maybe last year or whatever but you shouldn't be paying the
rest of your life for earlier charges that you should have paid up by now.
Every state is different , how do I find out my states regulations and laws?
Thank you for the link slimick, one of my
cards is going up in rates, percents etc
I need to get the balance down as quick
as I can. I was never late in paying but
this one card is still raising everything.

There is a statute of limitations for credit card debt, which is the amount of time that they can take legal action against you for the debt. This time period varies for each state. You can find this time period for your state by going to the link below and looking under "Open Accounts."

If your debt is older than the time period listed for your state, they can no longer take legal action against you. This does not mean that they can't try to collect the debt...it just means that they've lost the power to take legal action....all they can do after this point is annoy you...

Note: the statute of limitations can sometimes be reset by making recent payments on the debt or acknowledging in writing that you owe the debt..These laws vary from state to state.
