I KNOW how a vocoder works, it takes the waves coming from the microphone and digitally prints them onto notes being played on a keyboard (Imogen Heap, Daft Punk). That part is simple.
But what about a .MID file i can download off the internet? Can i take a wav of me singing and place a MIDI file underneath that and have it match everything going on to the notes and get a cool vocoder effect? I'd really like to know.
Current programs i have: audacity, mixcraft 4, garageband
Do not have: external midi controller keyboard
