Is there a way to guide a bluetooth signal along a wire or a cable?

I installed a bluetooth device in my car and the built-in bluetooth antenna is having trouble producing a clear connection because it is going through the cars fire-wall. I was hoping that there was a way to direct the bluetooth signal along a wire or cable through a knock-out in the fire-wall. I am not very versed in the world of wired/wireless technology so this may just be a pipe-dream. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
