It a normal stereo player with the bare wire sockets. It's designed for just 2 speakers but I want to connect 4 speakers. Can I just connect them directly by putting 2 in one, or do I need some kind extension? And what would be a good combination of speakers? I'm not looking to spend heaps of money. Thanks for any advice.
The reason I want to do this is so that I won't need to buy one expensive pair of speakers.
martthedge thanks for your answer. Can you give more specific explanation? I think I understand it's a kind of daisy chain set up? But should it be the posive or negative lead that is remove for connecting with the second speaker? And does it join with the positive or negative? I hope I am understanding this correctly! Also I don't understand what you mean by this "Adding more speakers does NOT increase the volume-but doing it right can maximise your power output." By power output do you mean the capability of the speaker to project volume without overload? Because my stereo has a lot of output for volume.. it's just the speakers can't go so loud without damaging them.. this is why I need to add a second pair.
Another thing that occurred to me is if the is a problem at the quiet end of scale? Like will having 4 speakers cause problem for sound quality when playing quietly? I've noticed that even with 2 speakers you lose some richness of sound (or it becomes thin).
So could this be even more noticeable with 4 speakers on the same outputs?
Oops sorry I got your name wrong.. I get it now 'mart the dj'!
