Is there a way of making my webcam take a photo every 5 minutes or so?

I am looking to do a time lapse piece and was wondering if there's a way to get my laptops webcam to take a photo in regular intervals be that 5 10 15 30 mins or even longer.

I dont mind if I have to download a program, but if I do it would have to be one that is well reviewed ans obviously safe.

my laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1720 if that helps :)
