Is there a way I can block unwanted sms on old vodafone nokia?

I've had my old Nokia vodafone for years and I do not want to change my number but my ex will not stop texting me despite me repeatedly ignoring him and asking him to stop. I would like to block him from texting and calling me. Is there a way I can do this?

I already phoned vodafone and they said they could do nothing except shut my phone number down....!
