Is there a university that's worth the money and where students are happy?

I'm no ivy league student and i attended an expensive university to say the least it sucked. So now I'm at a community college. I'm looking at other schools now and when I look at students reviews they all seem to suck. Now I begin to understand why so few Americans have degrees. It makes me want to give up too!

First, recognize that universities aren't supposed to be "fun". First and foremost, they are places for rigorous academic endeavour. It's always good when there are fun things around to relieve stress, but unfortunately huge amounts of stress always come with the territory. The people who have huge amounts of fun in university also may not make it to graduation.

Second, realize that only people who are bitter after a bad experience bother to go online and write reviews on things. Whether you're looking at colleges, hotels in foreign lands, or digital cameras, the online reviews will always be unfairly biased towards the negative side.

Remember that pretty well only the ones that had a bad time complain. The 98% that are happy seldom ever put anything on a review site.

My daughter had some beefs with her school, Chathan University in Pittsburgh (www.chatham.edu) but overall she was quite delighted with the overall experience there as well as at her grad school now.

Remember that the poll of students at these review sites is NOT a scientific poll where a random samole was taken. Only the people who had problems complain.

Well, I think it depends on what you are looking for in a college and your major, and the college's location. I think that an education is worth the money if you are getting the skills and knowledge you need out of it. I would go to princeton review, especially the student body part, and see which colleges have the atmosphere that you are looking for and have the academics too.
Out of curiousity, which college sucked so much that was so expensive?, and what didn't you like about it?
Regarding the student reviews, there are always people that don't like their school environment. Liking a school and learning is an individual thing and is based on what you like and how you learn.
Determine what you want in a school atmosphere wise, academically, geographically, then see what schools offer that and would match your GPA and qualifications. Good luck!

Holy crap i feel like i'm in the same boat. I currently attend Miami University and i'm getting nowhere. I'm miserable due to stress in classes, self disappointment, and fear of being unable to complete my degree. I think i'm going to go to a community college next year. I don't have an answer for you but i think knowing someone else is right there with you would make you feel better. does for me haha
