Try reading to your children and interacting with them. Do crafts with them. Talk to them and tell the tales about their culture and how it ties into their faith (unless you're christian and want your kids to be one as well, then you'll want to skip the whole "about your culture" part - it's generally not pretty, all things considered) and teach them the traditional songs. Encourage them to look outside into the world and ask intelligent questions. Reward them when they ask something YOU have to learn about as well.
Pagans and Heathens educate their children this way and it works. Our children don't always turn out the same faith as us (indeed, my own son is an atheist) but at least we know whatever path they choose it is a sincere path. Not only that - we've spent time with our children and enjoyed them when they were still OURS and not the world's.
