I have a 2007 Chevy Tracker and it has a cracked radiator. There is a thin long line across the top of it and it is leaking very bad. It was spraying all over the windshield when we first noticed the problem. It also started overheating. Well my husband say that it can ruin my engine if we even take it to the corner store. Is that true? We wont have the money for a new radiator until late next week. We tried Permatex but it didn't help. Will it ruin the engine if I just take it 5 minutes to my son's school? Is there something else I can do as a temporary fix?
I bought it used for $6,000 so I don't have a warranty or anything and I don't know anything about going to GE

I had this problem with my car. My ex-boyfriend used this glue on it that you pick up at a local hardware or auto store. I don't recall the name of it though. I was able to locate the leak and glue it. Haha. You can get a new radiator at a local junk yard for cheap and when you return the radiator they give you money back for the core. If your going to continue driving it just make sure that you continue to put antifreeze in it because it will ruin your engine. Mine was ruined so back that I had to replace the gasket and I had to have my engine head rebuilt because it warped that bad. It's a usually cheap problem to fix if you have someone who knows how to fix it.
