...money after a "no show" to court? I made the mistake of signing for someone at a bail bonds company. That person went to court, but then fled from the court room and was arrested at the Mexican border about a year later. Apparently the bond company lost the money they put up. Now they want to come after me and make me pay the bond. Four years have passed since this incident. The bail company has sent me numerous letters, which I have ignored because I am terrified and stressed out because of this. The amount is very high, something I can't afford to pay in my life time. What can I do? I there a stature of limitations for such companies to come after the people who signed at the time of bail. Or what are my options?
