Is there a special wrench required for pulling off ball joints on a 99' Dodge Van 1500?

Thanks in advance..
I'm referring to the upper ball joints. They look like they screw in.
 
ball joint wel some times they com ein differant ways which you can tell right away by removing front tire and looking some have nuts some are ribits all wil have one big nut which comes off some times just a big hammer to drive it out sometimes you need a grinder to take head off anyways here a few ways its done really not a hard thing some times
 
Are you talking about taking apart the upper or lower a-arm? Yes they have folk to break apart the spindle.
