is there a site to find old friends that you served in the u.s army with?

i was wondering if there was a site where u can find people who served with in the u.s army.

my mom was in the army in the 80's and i wanted to know if i can find anybody that knew her.

my mom died, when i was a 11 years old and i would like to just know more about her in general. my dad wont say much about her, i guess its to painful for him.

i know the her dob,maiden name and some very general stuff about her but not her ssn.

i tried to google her name but only found her death record with the state.

is there any suggestions on what i can do..

oh i also know the barracks she was in.

any good info on this subject would help...Thank you!
