First cousins can marry almost all through the South although I have never known of any who did.

But hell why not? People want it so that women can marry women and men can marry men. Why not cousins? Hell, why can't we just have a big group of married people while we're at it? What if I want to marry two people? How about that? :)

I almost died laughing when I learned my state decided to require STD councilling for every couple engaged to be married, but to drop the test to see if they were related.

What? you can marry your sister and screw around on her as long as you don't give her any STDs?

My state is so Fd up.

Are there laws that allow cousins to marry?

As far as I know Colorado is the only state allowing that at this point.

allowing COUSINS to marry? http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/cbc/081222/science/science_cousins_marry

Give me a break....what next....??
And what I meant in case that isn't quite clear (and you don't read the article) is abolish the laws that PROHIBIT cousins from marrying....thus ALLOWING them to.

Talk about wanting to keep it all in the family.

Incest is best. We have a lot of inbred people here seeking the attention they did not get at home.

Just what we need. Another way for people to get together and make more people. I want to die.

Well, studies have shown that there is not the problem with the genetics as originally thought.

So there is really no reason anymore as to why they shouldn't be able to.

The laws should be changed based upon the new factual evidence that has came forward.

Fine. Marry your cousin. Who cares? If there is no genetic harm done, then why should you even care?

You give me a break.

I have some nice looking cousins but I would not want to marry any of them. It would be like marrying my own brother. If you are meant to find love, you will find it and not with a cousin.

If there is no logical reason to ban the marriage (as the article claims there is not) then why should the government continue to ban them? There used to be laws that prohibited mixed race marriages as well.
