Is there a point where you can no longer bid on ebay?

Ok so I want to win a bid on ebay, theres only one other bid and im almost certain between today and tomorrow noone else is going to bid on this item. My plan is to place my bid 5 minutes before the auction is over, but since some websites and people are stupid I was just curious if Ebay will allow me to do this? I know it sounds stupid but I am just double checking before its too late
