Is there a NYS or National Law Association that get my lawyer to return the

amount of the retainer owed to me? The court hearing was in April and I still have not received the amount of the retainer that was unused by my lawyer. The lawyer does not respond to phone calls and takes weeks to answer e-mail messages. And this is a person that I paid to be my lawyer; not a pro bono attorney. I don't want to have to threaten my lawyer with the Law Associations that protect clients, but I cannot wait around to receive the finances owed either. There has to be a Law Association nationwide or in New York State that could assist me with this matter or communicate with my lawyer if he continues to be unresponsive.
 
Every state has a fee dispute resolution committee run by the state bar or the licensing organization. Look in the phone book.
