I live in Missouri and have a car that's less than 2 years old; 2007 Saturn Ion Sedan with OnStar. I'm on a two year renewal plan. My plates are due in December. No major problems with it. However, the "Coolant" light turns on, and this only happened twice; I had OnStar run a diagnoses on the engine when I saw this, and they didn't find any problems. In fact, the Coolant light only comes on when it's parked on a steep hill for a long time. Other than that, I never had any engine lights or alerts turn on. So, if the Coolant light turns on only when it's parked on the hill, will my car fail its first emissions test??
I do a lot of driving, but I still do my part to maintain it:
*I always get an oil/filter change every 3,000 to 4,000 miles
*It now has about 37,000 miles on it, and I took it in for its 30,000 mile tune up last July.
*My tires also get checked when the oil gets changed
*I make sure any trash like coffee cups, soda cans, etc get taken out of it every night, keeping it clean.
So hopefully my baby will be okay and not fail its first emissions test??
