I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a decent computer program or even just a good website that allows me to look at the "night sky" from my perspective. Years ago, I got a telescope with a cd and there was very good software with it. Unfortunately, as I have changed my computer since, I no longer have the software. If anyone can recommend software (preferably downloadable) or a really good website that i can enter co-ordinates into, I would be really grateful. Thanks in advance!

If you're looking for an actual image of a field, the Digital Sky Survey is often used by astronomers. http://archive.stsci.edu/cgi-bin/dss_form If you want to view the high-resolution .fits file, you'll need to download a viewer like ds9. http://hea-www.harvard.edu/RD/ds9/ If works on windows, but isn't too stable. It works better on a mac, best on linux.
