Is there a Christian sect that believes the Bible is fallible?

I was raised Catholic and have tried some Protestant sects but can not get over the fallibility of the Bible. When I was a kid, we used to sing a song that went something like "They will know we are Christians by our love." Is there a sect that is based on this but believes the Bible was written by man? That believes Jesus is the anthropomorphism of love, not a real living God-man? That the Bible stories are fables, some of which are useful to make the world a better place? Surely someone has come up with this idea before. Does anyone know?

Man has dominion over the earth. [When viruses can kill humans easily given they don't take anti-biotica]
The earth is flat, has 4 corners and is set upon 4 pillars. [The earth is a sphere]
Earth was created before stars. [When the speed of light confirmed it wrong]
Homosexuality is a choice. [When psychologists agree it's not a choice.]
