is their any differance between car and boat amps? i want to install a rockford fosgate

amp i have in my boat? I have a Rockford Fosgate Amp that was in my truck before i sold it. I was wondering if i could install in my boat. I know it will power the speakers but do i need anything special for the amp? Are boat amps waterproof?
