Is the U.S. the only country seriously debating evolution vs creationism?

I'm from Australia and evolution, as far as I know, has never been up for debate as far as teaching it in schools. I also have never heard of a serious proposal to teach creationism in public schools. Is anyone here from a country other than the U.S. where there is a serious debate over evolution vs creationism in public schools?
Great Gazoo, so there isn't an official debate going on, but it seems a great number of people seriously think it's a valid question. Or is it just that this is R&S and the fundies seem to congregate here?
novangelis - lol, but if you notice they were an Englishman and a Scotsman over here on working holidays. :)
 
I'm not sure. Luckily, the FSM saved Kansas, and by precedent, the rest of us so far.
