Is the U.S making progress in Afghanistan are they winning the war?

I also want to know if the u.s still a super power, is this great country still the most powerful. I know fighting a war against terror is difficult, has this war made u.s look weak and taken their place. I know russia couldn't win will the u.s be the same.

1. its not a war anymore, look up the definition of "war" and then try to apply it to the current situation. it is more of an occupation, won't last forever.
2. russia, lost because the US were giving the afgani people weapons, that the taliban are now using against america.
3. conquering doesn't work unless you use an iron fist, america lost in vietnam, gave up in somalia and the same has happened with most "wars" like this.
because these days war has rules, back with Atilla, Ghengis and rome obviously there was no rules to hold them back.
4. an exercise for all the people who are one sided out there, put yourself into the situation of an afgani and if you're too racist put america in afganistan's position, then think how you'd feel about this.

First, We have already won the war and are in the process of helping them rebuild their government, though we are still looking for bin Ladin. Second, we are still the most powerful country/military in the world.
