is the 'ten year cost' of $900 billion a joke?

maybe a Republican tactic. When Bush and kennedy did the Drug deal, now this is for drugs only it was to be a ten year cost of $500 billion! Soon after signing in 2003 they 'revised" it to $10 Billion a year or $1.04 trillion and now is as high was $240 billion a year or $2.4 trillion.

So that's drugs and they all shared the "private" information the insurance companies had on everyone, this deal is unknown. How stupid do they think the people are? Don't they understand we have caught on and it would be best to level with us?

The bank and insurance company bailouts make this figure a joke. Just AIG alone got $150 billion of taxpayer money. Trillions were spent bailing out AIG, Bank of America, etc. And we got nothing in return except higher bank fees, and seeing fat-cat CEOs get large bonuses and lavash parties while they burned their shareholders.

At least with healthcare we do get something for the $80 billion per year we'd spend.

The assumptions they gave the CBO are result determinative. They just used the last experience to hit the buttons. They are proposing price controls on doctors and providers, never on drugs, essentially.

That's you, not their constituency. Their constituency lives in a fairy tale world. Whatever sounds good is true. Whatever doesn't sound good, isn't true to their people. They only need to make it sound good and it will be believed.

just like the stimulus bill, cash for clunkers, and whatever other bill comes out of this administration. Just throw more money at it

I would triple the cost and still wind up short of the actual cost. And it does not cover about 25 million uninsured who will still be getting care support as now. Kinda like painting a fence with a steamroller.
