I really want to buy a digital SLR camera, and I think I found a great deal on a Sony A230, but I'm not sure of the quality of photos the camera produces. I started in digital photography using a Canon Rebel XSi with a Sigma 18-200 mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS, so it's safe to say that I'm definitely used to professional quality cameras that produce equal results. Can I expect the same quality from the Sony camera and lens? I've read the reviews about it, and I'm not sure how well I trust those;I was very unhappy with a Nikon D70s that was said to be excellent. So can anyone who's worked with a Sony A230 help me out??
I've taken a few photography classes, and my college was lucky enough to have Canons available for the students to use. As much as I would love to have a Canon with a Sigma lens, it's not in my budget (I would ideally like to spend less than $600 on the camera, lenses, and other accessories). I'm looking at this particular camera because it also comes with a telephoto lens and is within my budget.
