I babysit an 8 year old boy and I suggested we watch the simpsons but he said his parents didn't allow him to watch it because they 'said bad words' which I personally think is bull. Admittedly his parents are stricter than most and there are some things in the simpsons that may be inappropriate like sexual references and a few adult themes but all in all I think it's fairly harmless- it is on at primetime 6pm after all.
What's your opinion? Is 'the simpsons' appropriate for an 8yr old?
