I wanted to know because I recently had a friend correct me when I said this, claiming that it's supposed to be "I haven't ate yet" I was like what? that sounds wrong, and I hate being corrected unless I know it was wrong and I just stumbled over my words but she kept fighting it that she was correct and I asked my mom (who is an english teacher) and she said I pronounced it correctly, but I want to make sure.
