Is the previous generation (9th gen) Toyota Corolla better quality than the current one?

I own a 2007 Toyota Corolla LE and recently visited a dealership to look into the new Corollas and all I can say is that they are overpriced pieces of crap now. All of the new plastics are hard and low quality and it drives horribly. It's rather boring and I would never consider buying a new Corolla in the future.

With my current Corolla, everything seems fit and finished, and refined, although dated. The radio, forr example, sounds superb. The controls are more sturdier than the new Corolla's, and the plastics and interior materials also seem to fit better and have a good feel to them.

So what's your opinion about the current and past Corolla, in comparison?
