For movies - no, it will only play region A
For games yes.
Getting a region A player ain't bad, I have one, about to get my second. They are superior to region B players as:
a) you get the movie earlier (earlier release date)
b) it's cheaper (usually by about 40%)
You have to import your titles from the states though, minor inconvienience in my opinion.
I'd never recommend a region B or C player to anyone.
My 2 cents.
But if you're NEVER going to play a blu-ray disc movie, and can beat around 500USD on price (buying from uk) then go for the uk version.
