I often see some dresses in shops that have a lovely pattern on the fabric but the cut or the fit or something jst doesn't do it for. me. I like my clothes to fit well and hate paying top dollar for something that's odd fitting. So although it's more expensive I've been thinking of recreating some of the fabric patterns I see on clothes and make items that suit me better. So I was wondering if this would be illegal. Of course not an exact recreation, I might change a few things about the pattern.
And also printing fabric is cheaper the more you print. So if I print 20 metres when I only need 8 would I be able to sell the excess?
I'm talking about the pattern ON the Fabric not the dress pattern eg:
a repeat of blue roses on a red background.
