Is the Military a bad place to go?

If you'd rather wait until the war calms down then you don't belong or deserve to be in the military. The military doesn't need people who would rather take advantage of the benefits during peacetimes while trying to avoid war times. If your going to take advantage of everything the military has to offer you should pay your dues to you country and to the military. Not just wait until things calm down so you can sneak in and steal the benefits that everyone else fought for. And everyone doesn't always have the option of just going to college.

seriously, wait till the middle east calms down bbefore you go in. go to college, its the best, but if u do join the army, please please please, do well on hte asvab and do not go into infantry.
i am a woman so i couldnt be infintry, but the guys who scored low had to and unless u want to be a bullet stopper, hold off and join a good mos.
i think the air force is better though. i hated the army..oh, and when u go to the place to have your physical, make sure you hed my advice and hold off for the m.o.s. that u want because they will dick u around and tell you that there is no scapce or whatever, just dont join infantry!

It is "bad" only if you go into it with unrealistic expectations. There are plenty of benefits to joining the Army or other branch of service. But with those benefits comes the expectation that you take your training seriously, and don't try to get out of your duty. Pretty much all of us are getting sent to Iraq or Afghanistan at some point.
