I just had a flick through Walla.co.il, an Israeli news agency, and Al Jazeera, world wide news agency that usually supports the arab and muslim side of every conflict.
And I found two very different sets of headlines.
References to the conflict said today:
Walla.co.il:
* Arabs have been throwing rocks at Israeli cars on a highway today.
* Egypt has uncovered 2 tons of explosives in the gaza strip in the town of sarsurya
* Ismail Hanya - "Hamas wont recognize Israel's existence
* Two hamas militants blew up today as they were trying to install a bomb on the border between Gaza and Israel, for a passing Israeli patrol.
Al Jazeera:
* Palestinian youth shot dead
* Israeli navy hits Gaza fishing boat
* settlements key to talks
It is also important to note that on the Israeli side it is said there will be no new settlements and old settlements wont expand unless natural growth (ie. children born - new gindergarten). Thus on the Israeli side there is an emphasis that the settlements are of no issue, they want talks and then to decide what to do with the settlements
on the arab there is an emphasis that the settlements are The issue, and no mention that Israel stopped building them.
So is the media to be blamed?
