Is the JDM spec Mazda RX7 FD the same as the US spec RX7 FD?

I am thinking about importing a Mazda RX7 FD in the future. And I read somewhere that a car imported into the states does not have to pass emission standards if it is identical to that car in the US. I think that also applies for other tests.

The reason I am doing this is because I can get one in good condition for about $3000 - $4000. In the US, I would be lucky to get one for about $12000.

I would also like to know if the Nissan 300ZX (Fairlady Z) is the same.
 
no dude they both have the same body style alright dude just look up jdm due their a performance place like nismo man the 300zx and fairlady both have different engines
