Is the Honda CRV a good first car?

I'll be honest here, I'm 17 and don't even have a learners permit yet. I'm planning on doing that soon though because my uncle is buying a 2001 Honda CRV for me. The only cars I have driven before are a Chrysler Town and Country minivan (which I hate) and my friend's Durango (which I'm in love with). I know this is very much personal opinion, but do you think the CRV would be a good car to start out with?
I should add that my uncle says the car is in "very good condition, might as well be new". I have not seen the car myself as my uncle lives in Virginia and I'm in Indiana. Even if the car was a bit out of shape, my uncle fixes and re-sells Porsches and I believe he's done a few Ferraris. He can fix any car to the point of being pretty much new. So assuming this car is in good condition.

hondas are way over rated. the fast and the furious was a movie and imports can not run with blown big block mopars no mater how much nitrous you spray in them. get an american v8 powered car and you will be much happier

Depends.

If the car is in good shape, yes.

If it's not, no.

But that's for you to research.

Think of it this way. It's like asking if people from....Colorado, are nice people or not.

Depends on each and every individual, doesn't it? You can't just sum them all up and make a generalization, because that's just stupid.

Same goes for cars. Can't just say a certain kind is good, it depends on that SPECIFIC one.

No. Get a CAR. A cheap one too, 1996-2002 Impala, Lumina, Accord, Civic, Integra, TL, CL, Cavalier, Crown Victoria, Celica, etc.

If I got an SUV back when I turned 17 I'm sure I would have flipped it lol.
