When major companies all over the world are laying off, cutting wages, reducing benefits, ect....GM's union refuses to do anything.
Anything that is but take American tax money handouts.

I'm from New York State and the unions made so many demands that my part of the state lost 80% of it's manufacturing jobs back in the 1980's. Due to high taxes and union demands, the businesses voted with their feet - they moved to Mexico and other countries. GM is going to stand for Gone to Mexico if the unions don't wise up.

$73 dollars an hour and they are griping. Why didn't they save all the money that they made doing double overtime where they really cleaned up. The union leaders are to blame and just want to keep their positions and not be voted out by the membership so they keep asking for outrageous things and are not willing to save jobs. Horrible. The few will keep their jobs and the ones at the lower pay scale will lose. Change the leadership and save all the jobs by taking a 15% pay cut, one weeks vacation reduction, and no overtime. Realize that it isn't forever and just until quite possibly the next contract. They don't have to open the contract but just add amendments. Easy. Do it and save jobs you big headed Union bosses. Stupidity if you don't. The workers will finally get that you are just looking out for your own skin and not their interests.
