So you know how we recently switched over from analog television (antenna) to all digital (cable) television? Well I heard from a friend that the government is planning to use those unused analog channels to transmit free wifi instead of television since they aren't being used anymore (since we're all digital w/ tv.)
It seems too good to be true, even though he said that the speeds would only be slightly faster than dial-up. But still, FREE wifi pretty much everywhere?
So is this true or not? More info on it would be nice.
