There is a duality here that needs some revelation. Jesus speaks of "heaven" over 70 times in scripture and only of "paradise" twice. Does not even Jesus know the difference?
There is no other mention of what this difference is in the BIble. We cannot ever know this side of "paradise".
However, we know that God resides in heaven where there is no sin. This WAS the Garden of Eden and this was heaven on earth where man/woman were created to live.
Mankind sinned against God and was cast out of heaven. (same with satan)
The Garden (heaven) has been closed off to us while we live in the flesh. But the truth of Scripture is not of us "going to heaven". The reality of Scripture goes beyond this to what Jesus proved to us - the Resurrection.
Our goal is to not be dead in heaven. Our goal is to be resurrected into new life with a glorified body (new flesh!) that will be a sinless creation (re-creation) by the Holy Spirit. In this resurrection, we will be allowed back into the Garden of Eden (heaven) which God originally created for us.
It is ON the earth that we will know eternity. Not "out there" somewhere.
Read the Bible again.
This all fits.
(what's the point of the Earth if no one's going to be here?)
