With ice sheets melting at an unprecedented rate and far quicker than anyone predicted, the inevitable massive and rapid increase in sea levels will kill millions and wipe out whole countries. If we are to survive at all the whole map of the world will need to be re-drawn, areas previously uninhabitable will need to be colonised and vast natural resources will become available for exploitation. At present only a few developed first world nations have the technical ability and resources to be able to make the move to these areas and sustain themselves until they adapt. Eventually billions will die and the planets population will be enormously reduced providing those that manged to survive the change and migration to temperate and habitable climes, with the opportunity for vast wealth and ultimate control of the worlds lands, peoples and natural resources Is this the real reason why climate change proposals are always fudged and workable agreements never reached ?

It's really just people not wanting to lose money. Most of the scientists who claim that global warming is fraudulent have ties to the oil industries.
The poster above me is a good example of the unfortunate mentality of many people. I really don't understand how a person cannot understand the good that energy conservation does, and yet he attacks energy-efficient lightbulbs. Amazing.

Globalisation is not in the interests of the biggest firms who now face greater competition.
Global warming is a failure of states to regulate those businesses; after all they create wealth and jobs.
