chapter 1
“Well, fuck, Izzy, if you hated me that much, you could’ve just told me.” Sarcasm. That was the least thing I needed right now.
“I don’t hate you.” I told him, as I walked down the aisle, trying to find a seat.
“You’re abandoning me!” he shrieked.
I sighed. I wanted to hang up on him so bad. “Pierce, I’m not abandoning you. I’ll be back soon.”
“But why?” he sobbed. “Why do you have to leave!? Your mom’s not even going!”
“I honestly don’t give a fuck about my mom.”
Those words, unfortunately, were entirely true. Aunt Kristy and I were closer than ever, and her wedding is supposed to be the biggest day of her life, so I couldn’t just miss it. Just because my mom and her didn’t get along very well, all because of stupid grudges, doesn't mean that I couldn’t go. I was a big girl. I could make my own decisions. But I’ll admit it, I’ll definitely miss Pierce. He was my best friend.
“Listen, I’ll talk to you once I get to New York, okay?” I flipped the phone shut, and squeezed my way through the crowd. God, I hated planes.
