Is the Blackberry 8900 worth the price outright?

I have really been wanting to upgrade my wife's phone, but she has one year left on her contract. I know these phones are kind of expensive, but I really want to know if they are worth it. If you guys could post about your personal experience with the phone or what you have heard, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time...

Love my phone, but would've balked @ $499. The iPhone taught me not to spend that much on a phone.
The screen is great, latest build of OS (.174) seems really solid. The keyboard is a little different than the 8310, but I got used to it.

Honestly at the price point you're looking @ its really up to you and what you'll do with it as to true worth. I love it, but not $499 love.

I paid outright. Well sorta....they are letting me spread out the cost over the course of 3 months on my regular bill. I put 3 hundred down, and the rest I am paying monthly. Glad I did it, I loooove this phone!!!!

I paid for my 8900 full price but over the installment plan, since I had awhile before my contract was up. I have no regrets

I checked out the 8900 today at the T-Mobile store. Personally, I would not pay the full price for it. I'm holding on the the 8320. It does the job for now.

I have had the 8900 for a month now. My 2 year contract was up from getting my 8100. Love the phone and would of paid the full price if I had to and of course if I had that much monet to spend.

i'm about to pay outright for one....i think its worth it and even as employee we dont have them available to use yet. customers first of course, an i cant wait any longer

well it is worth the price depends on what you need it for. I would not spend the money if its just for having purpose. But if I need the phone with the functionality I would.

I checked the phone out at the local T-Mo store and I love it. I'd like to get it, but I'm about 6 months away from contract renewal and I don't have $499 to buy one out right, so I'm hanging on to my 8120 for just a bit longer.

I originally had the bold but feel in love with the 8900. Since att didn't have the 8900 and I didn't want a tmobile badged 8900, I purchased a roger 8900 from a user here on rabroad for $480 shipped and unlocked. Ebay wanted $520-$500.

I WANTED this phone soooo BAD. Luckily I have a wonderful gf who needed new service. We signed her up with tmo @ best buy, getting the 8900 for $149. She took my unlocked 8310 with them and I unlocked this with at&t. Prob switch to tmo if and when service improves here at home.
