im looking at infantry and other MOS's of the sort for the army to get into after high school which will be in a year

i heard the army is the worst branch to get into but how can this be if

A- theyre getting a 100 million dollar new special operations HQ
B- 5 new special forces battalions and 3 news ranger companies
C- they have the highest enlistment bonuses
D- they have the most, and most diverse, options for MOS's
E- theyre getting the new dress blues (which i like)
F- you can get a specific job in your contract vs the marines where you get a job field in your contract
G- they have the best technology available for their soldiers
H- etc.

So is there something im missing? Why would the Army be bad choice?

These are NOT the only things a hopeful recruit should be looking at...
Air Force - the only ones who ever see 'action' (being in a war zone) are the officers.
Army - ground support and YES they are sent into war zones.
Marines - FIRST into war zones.
Navy - no 'ground one-on-one' fighting ... they support from the water at a distance.
Now, EXACTLY how much do you love your country and what will YOU do for your country...
The most important thing a hopeful recruit needs to be remember; once you take your oath - you are then the property (YES I did say PROPERTY) of 'Uncle Sam' and Uncle Sam does what he wants to you and when he wants to you - plus, he puts you where he needs you - NOT where you want to be or where the recruitment person said you could select. There is NO recruitment person who will tell you this because if they did....no one would go into any branch of the US MIlitary. It is the recruitment person's job to make 'quotas' and paint 'rosy' pictures of military life.
On your list; C...NOT what should determine a person's choice.
E...remember, the Air Force already has 'dress blues'.....and I did state 'dress' - this means the only time you will be wearing them is for special occasions and that's it.
F....NOT going to happen - 'smoke and mirrors'.

Every branch has its pros and cons..

Overall I wouldn't say the Army is bad it just depends on what you want to experience and gain
Most people say its bad because of the long deployments to Iraq or Afghanistan Army personnel can be deployed from 12 to 15 months while Air Force only deploys for 6 and Marines deploy from 6 to 12..

I would suggest talking to recruiter from all branches even The Coast Guard so you can see what fits you best..

Infantry is great man!! Also check out cavalry scout which is another Combat MOS

there's an old story about a young man going off to fight in WW2. His father says, join the navy. At least you'll die clean.

The father has a point. An army soldier (specially infantry) that dies has a large chance of dying in the dirt. Even airforce pilots or army chooper pilots or army tank drivers, either you are entombed in your vehicle or you eject/get ejected onto the ground.

but I dont know what kind of guy you are so i really cant be sure that you will or will not like it in the army
