Is the A55 From Bangor to Abergele safe to ride on with a bicycle?

I am planning a cycle ride through North Wales which starts and finishes in Flint. From Flint I am heading along the A494 to Barmouth and then from Barmouth I am going to Caernarfon and then along the coast back to Flint. From Bangor onwards the road is the A55 and what I am wondering is whether the road is afe enough to take a cycle on, and if it isn't at all suitable for cycles are there any quieter roads which go along the North wales coast that I could use?

Where is the A547 I can't see it on any maps?
 
There is the A547 a Parallel route but as to which is the safer is down to your choice and ability I think the main A55 route is better as there is a hard shoulder most of the way.
