yeah they are safe but they are slightly top heavy like all SUVs are so if you slam on the breaks and turn as hard as possible it'll hit two wheels maybe flip, but you have to try to get them to lose control otherwise and they hold up well in a wreck. the only thing i would do instead is try and get a 2008 suburban instead because it gets the same fuel economy but has a lot more room. a Tahoe is really just a blazer with a big backseat and engine, and you can negotiate them down to the prices of a Tahoe.
