Definitely not. 3.1L engines are underpowered. If it was a stick then I would say maybe, but a 3.1 automatic has too many negatives. If you're really looking for a Camaro and you want good gas mileage and you can afford one, I would say get a fourth generation(93-03) with a 3.8L V6. Much more durable engine and they have plenty of power for a lightweight car. Otherwise stick to a V8 if it has to be a third gen.
