Is T-Mobile GPS Free?

I don't have a data plan. I have a BlackBerry 8900 with a GPS inside. I have something called TrekBuddy. It has maps you download from the internet from your computer, and then use GPS to map your location. I wanna use the GPS. Is it free? If so, but BlackBerry uses measures to make sure you pay for it with your data plan, does anyone know a bypass?
