Is T-Mobile a good wireless phone service?

1. Would my phone service be good in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area. It's a small city of about 70,000 people or so but the surrounding area is much larger. Is T-mobile's network just as good as Verizon's?
2. When you buy a plan with t-mobile can you use your own phone that you already own. Mine is an LG flip phone. Very plain and simple and I want to keep using my phone.

3. When you sign up for a plan, do you have to sign on for a 1 or 2 year agreement because I don't want to do that. I don't want to buy their phone either.

Thanks

T-Mobile is somewhat of a good service but Verizon is much better. Verizon has good phones at better pricing than T-Mobile. The plan price is about same but whats good about T-Mobile is that you can switch phones just by removing your sim card into another device from T-Mobile or an Unlocked GSM Phone. If you are a user who likes to trade phones often then T-Mobile would be an alright carrier but if you are looking for a phone to use for two years then Verizon would be a good carrier. Also you have to sign up for a 1 or 2 year contract. If you don't then the phone will be very expensive
