hai
From last 1week i m suffering with neck pain. so i consulted doctor.MRI report i got is "Cervical spondylosis with thickened posterior longitudinal ligament from c3 to c6".
doctor suggested that, take rest for 1week if condition is serious its better to go for surgery...pain in the right hand,arms....
my question is "is surgery necessary at this situation"
please suggest me to take a correct decision.

You are usually best to try all conservative treatment methoRAB before agreeing to surgery. These would include physical therapy, cortisone injections, ice applied several times a day (20 minutes at a time), rest when sore, NSAIRAB and muscle relaxers if cleared by your doctor, etc.

Sometimes surgery can't be avoided, but until the conservative treatments are exhausted don't agree to surgery. Also, get more than one opinion if at all possible before agreeing to surgery. Different doctors can have very different opinions.

Warm wishes!

Okay, all i can suggest is my experience with back surgeries. mine is on the lower half

but surgery is something you cant take back or change, from what i have seen success rates only 20% on lower back surgeries. mine has been a nightmare from word go. im not trying to scare you but my hardware has came apart twice and i have had 3 surgeries.

just a thought
