is studying physics worthwhile when it seems we're just finding turtles all the way

down? First we think the atom's the smallest piece of matter, then pro/neu/electrons, then quarks, then gluons...how deep do we go before we figure out it just gets smaller - maybe infinitely small, just like infin. big?
 
That's what makes it interesting - just when you think you have got everything sussed along comes something else to amaze you.
